Refferal schemes campaign

In the last few days the SAP/ ERP headhunting companies are very active: they promote new refferal schemes. Of course, you have to reffer new vacancies or new candidates to them and they will pay you back. Generously. The different companies have different proposals - fixed price for candidate or % of the man days afterwords.

Do you think it is a real business opportunity or it is just another desperate measure against the bloody crisis?

8 Critical Success Factors for ERP projects

Before the beginning of the project you have some prerequisites that you need to be confirmed. We can call them critical success factors. Don’t accept them as Holy Bible but take it in mind.

High level of management support

The needs of management in the support of the process owners in the process of decision making. High priority must be given to the program R/3 in the organization and it will have to be assessed as a total business solution and as a data processing related project.

Commitment of the project team

The commitment of resources to the project must be standard and their availability during basic steps for the integration of the application must be provided for. There may be non-programmed periods of absence of the project members of the key-project during or right after the application.

Change management

The sponsor of the project must be responsible and foresighted in the management of changes within the organization so that in the individual functions of tasks will not be affected; this management will bring partial reorganization.

Immediate decision making

Any decisions that need to be made by the organization during the application implementation sequence will need to be made in an immediate and effective way. Having given the responsibility in decision making to the Process Owners (and to group of process owners in Integration Issues) will satisfy this criterion. The Manager of the project must enforce the rules of decision making as well as the timetable.
The Business Process Owners have the complete knowledge of business requirements
The individuals that have been selected to participate as Process Owners must know the present and future requirements. They must empower the rest of the organization personnel, they must provide information that is needed and they must be supported by the key users.

Availability

Distribution of the team members of all teams so that they are available when this is required, which means availability of internal resources and skills.

Business process adoption

The processes that will be executed, will be based upon the current available best practices, as these are defined in the standard system. The SAP Solution business consultants will propose solutions based upon the needs of the organization and they will not present all the choices within the SAP.

Controlled project goal

The correct definition of the summation of processes of the organization is necessary in the beginning of the project and this will predefine what is applicable to all the remaining faces.

Acceptance

It must be comprehended that there will be changes in the workflow, but the users must be strengthened by the show of the strong points that the new system provides.
